Influence of plasma protein on the phagocytic function in isolated liver of rabbit

Abstract

|
Isolated liver of the rabbit was perfused with polyvinyl pyrrolidone-I131 solution, to elucidate an interrelation between the plasma protein and phagoscytosis, when the homoplasma was added to the perfusion fluid, the rate of uptake by the liver was markedly augmented. This experimental result uggests that the phagocytic mechanism of the reticuloendothelial cells must be closely related to the plasma protein.
